            • I'M JUST POINTING OUT VANDALISM TO WRITTEN PIECE BEFORE LIST ON SINGLES DISCOGRAPHY WHERE SOMEONE HAS MENTIONED A CLEARLY RIDICULOUS SINGLE AFTER DR BEAT 'MATUNIAN RUMBA' WHICH OBVIOUSLY NEEDS REMOVING. IT DOESN'T SEEM TO LET ME DO THIS MYSELF SO IM HIGHLIGHTING THIS IN CAPITALS SO YOU DON'T MISS IT***** — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.174.157.192 (talk) 21:59, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I must point out here that Miami Sound Machine is now (since 2002) a completely different music band, formed by three girls, produced by Emilio Estefan Jr.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.252.222.107 (talkcontribs)

The information should be put back in. In fact, there shouldn't be a redirect here from Miami Sound Machine.--71.203.125.108 (talk) 12:50, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with Miami Sound Machine should not redirect to Gloria Estefan, there is probably enough material for a separate article (even if Miami Sound Machine was still as of now Gloria's backing / support band. Wfoj2 (talk) 18:55, 29 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Changes to article

[edit]

I worked on this article about two years ago. It looks dramatically different now - in some ways improved, but also stuff has been edited out that should not have been, namely:

  • information about her youth and high school years
  • her college career at the University of Miami (1975-1978)
  • her business ventures with Emilio outside of music (e.g. resturants, resorts) needs updating. For example, the article talks about them going to open a resort in Vero in 2008 called Costa d'Este - well, the resort has been open for a while and is doing well
  • information about the accident her tour bus had with the truck in the 1990s has been minimized, esp. relating to what she went through to recover from her injuries --Hokeman (talk) 01:36, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Duet with NSYNC"?

[edit]

The article says In 1999 Estefan performed a duet with *NSYNC on the single "Music Of My Heart", How can six people singing together be "a duet"? 70.240.149.193 (talk) 20:08, 16 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you look at duet, it can refer to the performers of a duet. Indirectly, NSync is seen as a group or one performer and Estefan as the other. There is probably a better term for this harmonization but duet has not had an objection until today. --Morenooso (talk) 20:14, 16 April 2010 (UTC?

protection

[edit]

Looks like we need some protection on the article for a while given high levels of vandalism. Span (talk) 10:51, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deadly

[edit]
Deadly, Uncle (1 February 2016). "Swine Song". The Muppets. I am not happy about spending the night with you Gloria Estefan, and that's not the first time I've said that.

Would this reference be notable exposure? Is the first I've heard of her. 184.145.18.50 (talk) 15:13, 2 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Only Gloria Estefan Studio albums on the main section of discography

[edit]

Gloria Estefan recorded a bunch of albums with Miami Sound Machine, those albums belong to the band as a whole, not to Gloria Estefan as a solo artist, so it is not correct to show all those albums on her wikipedia page as their not studio albums by her but by the band, those albums should be shown exclusively on the discography wikipedia page not on her main page. Her first album, (her debut as a solo artist) was 1989's Cuts Both Ways, so that albums and the follow ups are the ones that should be presented on the page. Ventas de Gloria Estefan

[edit]

186.174.159.169 (talk) 17:41, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
